LOGO DESIGN FOR A CAUSE

10 Apr

I usually don’t settle on my first ideas but this one was so instinctive that it just made sense. STUDY FOR A CAUSE brings education to much needed kids through the support and collaboration of other students and participants.  They practically “recycle” education by what they do, so I started off by basing it on a well known symbol: the recycle logo, but with pencil tips. This is a concept that can give the overall campaign a lot of legs to be easily executed in many different ways. Thanks again to Matt and A Verynice Design Studio for this wonderful opportunity. And congrats on the article Matt!

It’s Cake Time

3 Feb

I just finished this birthday card design for the cutest little boy turning five this February. The theme is perfect for this time of the year. I was quite pleased with the results. But mostly I had a great time exercising my design muscles – from playing with various type combinations to selecting beautiful paper.

Pavilion Program & Invitation

26 Jan

Here’s the design for the Washington Pavilion Arts Night. I was so inspired by the gorgeous corporate design by the Walker Art Center that I decided to create something around the idea of repeating patterns. The metallic ink really brought together the whole piece.

Advertising is Art

I couldn’t have said it better myself. This Call for Entries video for the 2011 AICP finds a great way to make a point that great advertising is indeed art (and vice-versa). Via digitalbuzzblog

Jack’s Cannery Bar

12 Jan

Derrick and I created these posters for a little bar in San Francisco. Anybody who’s ever lived in San Fran will remember Jack’s. How could you not? They have 100 beers on tap! Derrick Ho, currently ACD at Foote, Cone & Belding, came up with these brilliant headlines.

Jim Kazanjian

6 Jan

Jim Kazanjian’s describes his black and white photography as “composites” of high resolution imagery of a place that “unravel” something outside itself. In its immaculate art direction, this series evokes a sense of abandonment, as if revisiting of our own present-day ruins.
